PenFed is hiring a Senior Mortgage Learning Design Partner (Remote) at our San Antonio, Texas location. The primary purpose of this role is to be a strategic partner with line of business clients to determine learning needs, appropriate learning methodologies, learning timeframes, and prioritizations to best meet business goals and member satisfaction as well as design and develop engaging learning content and experiences. This individual will create engaging learning content using effective adult learning principles through appropriate multimedia delivery channels. Learning content may be delivered as stand-alone modules or as part of instructor- led in person and virtual sessions. In addition to design and development work, this individual may facilitate learning sessions as needed. Partner strategically & directly with LOB leaders, stakeholders, and subject matter experts in the determination of learning needs of the organization, businesses, and initiatives. Partner strategically & directly with LOB leaders, stakeholders, and subject matter experts in the design and development of training strategies to meet the various needs across the organization, including (but not limited to) measurable learning objectives, leader and participant materials and tools, experiential scenarios and simulations, assessment and evaluation questions. Leverage effective needs analysis, project management, and evaluation skills. Create curriculum roadmaps and recommend the optimal blend and supporting rationale. Develop online learning solutions, which are engaging and creative, while still maintaining the instructional integrity and validity of the solution. Review work products and provide mentoring to other learning and development team members. Develop instructional plans to meet objectives of clients. Determine, recommend, and document project instructional standards and strategies, learner engagement strategies, and evaluation plans. Provide “Train-the-Trainer” activities. Engage with team members to enable clarity of goal; conduct on-going reviews to ensure outcome is on track to meet client needs. Implement best practices in instructional design and incorporate feedback mechanisms. Evaluate existing training methods, materials, and practices, and make recommendations for program refinement as needed. Influence clients to adopt new ideas, processes, approaches, or strategies. Ensure that needs analyses are conducted for assigned business units and functions, then drive the design and delivery of training programs to meet the needs identified. Ensure that training is developed and delivered in a timeframe that is consistent with project schedules and corporate and/or client goals. Stay informed of industry tools, trends and resources that might enhance PenFed’s learning curriculum. Identify success metrics and conduct pre- and post- training evaluations to test and monitor progress in learning, suggest and implement changes to make learning more effective as necessary. Provide feedback on the effectiveness of learning programs and/or learner performance to ensure learning objectives are achieved. Collaborate with Learning and Development leadership to align learning goals with overall corporate and departmental objectives. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of operating policies and procedures, and PenFed’s products and services. Manage multiple learning initiatives simultaneously and effectively, keeping on task with the demands of the organizations learning needs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in related field (Business Administration, Human Resources) or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions. Minimum eight (8) years’ work experience, 5 years of instructional design experience required. Minimum 5 years mortgage industry experience Ability to lead projects from start to finish with minimal direction and provide input and learning expertise in the design of projects. Web-based authoring or design skills required. Experience with learning design software (Articulate 360, Camtasia preferred). Graphic design skills preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills is required. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds. Travel Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
