PenFed Credit Union Pre-Funding Review Senior Manager in San Antonio, Texas

PenFed is hiring a Pre-Funding Review Senior Manager at one of the following locations: San Antonio, Texas; Alexandria, Virginia; and Omaha, Nebraska. The primary purpose of this position is to oversee review and funding of loan packages submitted through the Consumer Indirect, Purchase, and POS (Point of Sale) Lending programs. This role will manage the individuals that receive and review Consumer loan portfolios to assure the loans adhere to PenFed’s lending guidelines and that the corresponding Membership is accurately created. This position will assure that the loan portfolios are purchased in a timely manner. Manage and mentor individuals regarding the portfolio analysis to assure the loans adhere to PenFed’s lending policy. Analyze the review of product description, underwriting guidelines, loan approval, loan process, closing documents, collateral, data integrity, and reporting. Manage new third party vendor relationships which includes working with Consumer Banking Product Management, IT, Legal, Compliance, Accounting, and any other departments necessary. Ensure loans are originated according to PenFed Underwriting guidelines. Complete and maintain checklist for sample loans reviewed prior to funding. Collaborate with other business units for mapping/converting the loan portfolio of the newly acquired credit union(s) to the PenFed servicing system, if appropriate. Establish meetings with approved buyer to address complaints, research and potential repurchases. Review reports to ensure timely responses are provided and resolution is completed. Coordinate approved repurchases with the applicable PenFed departments. Manage the publication of the monthly investor reporting and reconciliation in respond to questions related to the sale of active loans. Manage the publication of all required reporting such as Status, Repurchase, Complaint, Audits, Loan Review related charged-off debt sales and monthly credit dashboards. Maintain knowledge of current industry regulation, processes and developments through publications, membership in professional organizations and contact with other financial institutions. Remain aware of advancements in academic research related to credit risk management. Assist in the publication of monthly and quarterly reporting. Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Baccalaureate Degree in related field required, Masters’ preferred. Minimum of ten (10) years progressively responsible work experience in credit policy preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of direct management experience required. Proficiency with statistical analysis required. Strong working knowledge of industry lending and internal lending policies and products. Strong working knowledge of accounting principles. Experience with automated financial systems required. Supervisory Responsibility This position will supervise employees. Licenses and Certifications There are no additional certifications required. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds. Travel Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
