PenFed is hiring a Human Resources Generalist at our San Antonio, Texas location. The primary purpose of this job is to support the HRBPs in the execution of HR programs and solutions that enable business and department success. This position will lead HR projects and support the HRBPs with providing HR guidance to include employee relations, retention, performance management, compensation, and benefits. Collaborate across HR functions to deliver HR products and services to service center and/or corporate leaders and employees. Respond to routine employee relation issues and provide advice and recommendations to management on disciplinary actions. Under the guidance of an HRBP, conduct employment investigations. Maintain a high level of contact and visibility with employees at all levels to foster respectful, trusting and credible relationships. Oversight and ownership of HR programs (i.e., Onboarding coordination, Phishing, field NEO, exit process, etc.) to include identifying process improvement and recommending solutions. Conduct new employee orientation meetings and prepare all associated paperwork for processing. Support the management of employee immigration matters, communicating with employees, their managers and outside counsel. Ensure TA and HR leadership are informed. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed. Provide support to HRBP team on all people initiatives including processing of EAFs, promotions, salary increases, organization changes, and Position Request Forms. Exercise discretion and judgment in partnership with HRBP on ER matters, policy interpretation and conflict resolution. Responds to unemployment claims and represents the Company in unemployment hearings as needed. Serve on project teams to ensure deliverables are met on a timely and quality basis. This role is responsible for ensuring business continuity. Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, business or related degree program preferred. Minimum four (4) years of experience in Human Resources. Experience with PeopleSoft or other HR Information System, MS Office Proficiency. Excellent verbal and written communication and diplomacy with all levels of employees. Bilingual English-Spanish a plus. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, as well as work effectively in a team environment. Licenses and Certifications PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP Certification preferred. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds. Travel Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
