PenFed is hiring a Senior Quantitative Analyst, Deposit Analytics and Insights (Remote) our Tysons, Virginia location. The primary purpose of this position is to work with senior management to determine the strategic plan for the Deposits (Checking, Savings and CDs) line of business to develop and conduct marketing analytics, data analytics, financial assessment, business intelligence, and performance reporting. The Sr Analyst will understand the overall vision and strategy for both lines of business and set up an analytics agenda that aligns with overall business strategic goals. The Sr Analyst will place particular emphasis on direct data mining, modeling, and segmentation, and will leverage both internal and external sources through collaboration with stakeholders throughout the credit union. This position is remote, and candidate can be located anywhere in the United States. Provide thought leadership and strategic thinking to translate business challenges into an analytical framework. Independently provide business insights and recommend actions. Conduct multi-dimensional data and analytical problem solving. Solve business problems by applying advanced data and analytical methods. Conduct end-to-end analysis that includes data processing, analysis, evaluation of customer insights and presentations. Utilize analytical tools (SAS,SQL, R, Python) and data query tools to build ,test, evaluate and maintain robust data analysis and reporting in order for management to make timely and informed decisions. Develop and manage the MIS reporting for Deposit products - including KPI reports by product and lead the automation and scheduling of daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Work with key stakeholders including Marketing, Operations, User Experience, Finance, Fraud, IT, and external business partners to evaluate, manage, and execute initiatives aimed at driving Deposit portfolio growth. Develop an effective test and learn approach, design the appropriate marketing campaign tests, and offer plan to increase deposit balances and account growth. Directly mine and evaluate behavioral/demographic attributes and other internal and external data elements. Leverage data to identify credit union segments with high propensity for deposit balances and develop programs to drive incremental accounts and balance growth. Manage vendor relationships and the use of 3rd party data to drive effective acquisition strategies. Mentor junior analysts to develop career and personal development plans. Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field is required. Master’s Degree in a quantitative or a related field is highly preferred. Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in consumer products in consumer financial or related industry. Deposit experience is preferred. Minimum of four (4) years of experience in complex, data driven problem solving, preferably including direct and digital marketing strategy, prospect database analysis, customer behavior analysis, and product performance analysis. Statistical modelling experience including GBM, linear and logistic regression, decision tree, and propensity scoring. Expert skills in SQL / R /Python, Tableau/Monarch, Excel, PowerPoint, and proficiency working with large dataset are required. Experience communicating complex ideas clearly both in writing and in meetings. Experience using data, analytics and modelling to solve business problems. Experience with consumer data and data warehouse is required. Understanding of the US consumer banking landscape is required. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. *Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds. Travel Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
