PenFed is hiring a Manager of Business Intelligence at our McLean, Virigina location. The primary purpose of this position is to provide actionable business intelligence and data insight in consultation with management and business units for use in daily and strategic decision making. The Manager, Business Intelligence will be responsible for identifying and recommending solutions, practices, and innovative techniques that align with strategic business initiatives, anticipate market changes and trends and meet financial goals. The incumbent will work under minimal supervision and supports all Lending business product areas including credit cards, Deposits, consumer loans (Direct & Indirect), and education lending. Work closely with direct management in the holistic evaluation of strategies aimed at driving profitable cards portfolio and consumer loans products growth. Obtain quantitative and qualitative data of business processes to analyze, determine and promote data-driven decisions. Build new and modify existing database/ data-mart and business intelligence solutions to meet business unit objectives. Use data warehousing/business intelligence toolsets to gather, store, and provide access to data in assist management decision making. Identify areas of improvement; determine solutions; implement enhancements/changes to improve operations, standards and results. Collaborate with management to establish objectives, standards, and strategies for delivering updates and changes to reporting and analytical procedures. Work with Data-Lake, Data scientist, Credit Risk, Finance and other internal business teams as well as external to ensure consistent and accurate reporting while minimizing redundancy. Analyze data gathered from multiple sources to reconcile differences. Apply a consistent approach to data interpretation and performance measurement results. Analyze and evaluate competitor data and industry trends to understand current business unit competitive posture. Interpret analytic findings and formulate recommendations to share with key decision makers. Design, maintain, and document dashboards, reports, and benchmarks to alert business units to monitor business status and fluctuations. Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Master’s Degree in a related field, or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience. Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in credit card and consumer lending products acquisition or existing portfolio data analytics including but not limited to marketing analytics, statistical analysis, performance evaluation within a financial services environment is required. Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory / management experience. Hands-on skills in SQL, Tableau, Power BI, PowerPoint, Excel, SAS, R, Python and proficiency working with large dataset are required. Expert skill presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives, and information clearly and concisely Advanced verbal and written communication skills Extensive experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals. Advanced skill in programming languages. Expert skill resolving conflicting requests and meeting changing requirements. Extensive experience in demonstrating thought-leadership, initiative-taking, decision-making and creativity solving business problems. Extensive experience in Data Warehouse and business intelligence associated tools. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to manage many initiatives simultaneously while providing progressive delivery. Effectively interact and communicate with varying levels of leadership across a broad network of resources. Strong written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills. Supervisory Responsibility This position will directly supervise employees Licenses and Certifications There are no additional certifications required. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds. Travel Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call will be required.
