PenFed is hiring a Director, Operations Business Intelligence & Analytics at one of the following locations: McLean, Virigina; San Antonio, Texas; Eugene, Oregon. The primary purpose of this position is to integrate insights from various platforms (CRM, Telephony/IVR, CSAT, etc.) to design, develop and deliver standard executive, operational and ad hoc reporting, to support management decisions and external reporting requirements. This role will expand the use of PenFed’s business intelligence platforms and the underlying data infrastructure supporting them. This role will own the governance of the strategy, competitive analysis and drive to ensure corporate/business strategic initiatives are supported, implemented and communicated with the processes and framework necessary for success, ensuring compliance with the program as well as all related regulations, policies and procedures. The incumbent will lead change management, act as a management consultant and be an operational leader helping PenFed to clarify fast-moving strategic priorities and tackle operational challenges. Maintain deep end to end understanding of analytics from descriptive to predictive analytics including Machine Learning across data ingestion, prep, development, and end user adoption. Create, maintain, disseminate, and/or generate excitement for tools to facilitate everyday business management and opportunity analysis across team(s) to support objectives. Responsible for the direction and development of team members to ensure deliverables are timely, accurate, and effective in helping to achieve PenFed’s objectives. Recruit, train, supervise, evaluate, and develop analysts to increase knowledge, skills, and quality of output. Assign projects to appropriate individuals and ensure timely and accurate completion. Provide data and dashboards to be presented at executive meetings, town hall presentations, strategic plans and business unit reviews. Create staffing models to support budgeting. Maintain models and work with databases of relevant business information to conduct analysis. Evaluate data quality ensuring standards and guidelines are met. Research, analyze and communicate comparison of competitive data. Develop, design and program complex financial models for special studies and regular departmental functions. Identify/quantity/recommend strategies or tactics to realize business opportunities, optimize processes or mitigate operational issues. Direct end-to-end model design and development which includes but is not limited to identifying objectives, sampling, testing/validation, calibration, and monitoring performance. Ensure adequate internal control processes around model development, implementation and validation are established. Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Data Science or a related field is required. Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in data analysis and/or business intelligence. Five (5) years of direct management experience. Experience in financial services (banking, wealth management or lending) is strongly preferred. Hands on experience and aptitude to go deep when needed into technical aspects like machine learning and statistical modeling Experience using structured strategic thinking, analytical processing, problem-solving and synthesizing ideas Excellent communication skills Experience in growing and mentoring a team, creating career progression opportunities Proven track record developing and managing advanced analytics capabilities. Supervisory Responsibility This position will directly supervise employees Licenses and Certifications There are no additional certifications required. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds. Travel Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call will be required.
