PenFed is hiring a IT Data Networks and Services Director at our McLean, Virginia location. The primary purpose of this position is to lead IT teams in the development, delivery and support of innovative strategies, processes and technical solutions that advance advance IT division objectives and standards aligned with PenFed strategy. The director will promote the engagement and professional development of managers and employees within assigned responsibility areas. Responsibilities The Director of Data and Voice Networks is responsible for the design, integration, and management of the PenFed enterprise-wide data and voice networks and technologies. Manages an IT staff of 15 – 40 employees (senior managers, managers, supervisors, technical leads) May oversee work performed by contractors Participates in the development of IT division objectives Directs the design, development and implementation of technical solutions in the relevant IT technical disciplines in support of IT division objectives and PenFed strategy goals Manages multiple complex projects or technical functions requiring enterprise-wide integration and service Promotes industry best practices and supports IT division standards Manages the development of - and ensures compliance with - IT division technology and security standards, governance processes, and performance metrics to ensure IT delivers value and security to the enterprise Works with business, service providers and vendors to establish SLAs that support business objectives. Monitors and modifies SLAs as required. Selects and manages vendors and service providers. Participates in the development of IT budget, schedule, and team resources Ensures staff has the resources and skills needed to support all work initiatives within multiple teams and functions. Forecasts new skills requirements based on emerging technologies and business/member demand Meets regularly with direct reports to ensure high employee engagement Meets regularly with the managers, leads and teams to gather work statuses and discuss progress and obstacles Provides advice, guidance, encouragement and constructive feedback Promote culture of high-performance, continuous improvement and commitment to quality and accountability Establishes measurable individual and team objectives that are aligned with PenFed IT division organizational goals Documents and presents performance assessments Provides input to the identification and development of potential future leaders Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in related field Twelve years of work experience 5 years IT management experience Strong Network (LAN/WiFi/WAN) , Edge security (Firewalls, IPS/IDS, DMZ, Remote Access) and Voice experience in a cross-functional environment Strong knowledge and experience of Enterprise Networking and Voice Technologies, such as Cisco, DNS Technologies, Remote Access Solutions, F5 LTM/GTM Capabilities, SBC, Contact Center and Monitoring Excellent leadership capability, executing as appropriate in the areas of responsibility Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building Excellent time management, problem solving and multi-tasking skills Superior presentation skills Strong knowledge of the technologies, methodologies and practices in multiple relevant IT technical disciplines Requires experience in directing managers, multiple teams/functions and building relationships with people at a variety of management levels Knowledge of the roles, skills and technical knowledge required to achieve goals within multiple IT technical disciplines Supervisory Responsibility This position is responsible for supervising employees Licenses and Certifications CCNP, CCAr, or CCIE prefered Industry and academic certifications in related technical discipline(s) Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds. Travel Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call is required.
