PenFed is hiring a Director, Financial Reporting at our Tysons, Virginia location. The primary purpose of this job is to direct the process for all reporting, including quality financial review packages, forecast and budget reports, board of director presentations, ad hoc presentations. This position also leads the external reporting process, including PenFed’s Annual Report and production of the quarterly Call Report, providing timely and accurate information which meets PenFed’s stewardship responsibilities. This position interfaces regularly with the executive team, presenting to the Chief Accounting Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Board of Directors where appropriate. Lead, manage and direct all financial reporting– both day-to-day operations and development of new reporting capabilities. Partner with Information Technology resources to ensure state-of-the-art systems and tools are in place and functioning for complete, accurate and consistent reporting. Partner with accounting team on close process and preparation of monthly reporting activities, budget vs. actual review, commentary and facilitate business-leader discussions Create, modify, and manage complex financial reporting that support CFO organization-wide strategic planning, and cross-functional business leader discussions. Cross-collaborate with Finance to direct preparation, assessment and validation of various reporting. Establish a process that will align external and internal reporting to create efficiencies and control for monthly production. Assist with M&A growth by providing financial ROI analysis and post-transaction integration analysis and reporting. Develop reporting cadence to communicate budget vs actual, actual vs actual, KPIs, and predictive analytic models. Build and maintain strong operating processes surrounding company financial reporting that is highly scalable. This role is responsible for ensuring business continuity. Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably Accounting, Information Systems, or Data Analytics related. Minimum of twelve (12) years of reporting related experience either in a financial reporting or FP&A role. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience of direct management. Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is preferred. Experience in banking or a credit union operation is required. Exceptional analytical ability with a background in identifying and analyzing a financial institution’s business performance metrics. Significant experience working with large datasets and expert knowledge of various data analysis software packages and tools (e.g., MS-Excel, SAS, Hyperion, Oracle ERP) is required. Licenses and Certifications CPA is preferred Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds. Travel Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call is required.
