PenFed is hiring a Remote Correspondent Lending Loan Processor at our Jacksonville, Florida location. The primary purpose of this job is to review loans within the Correspondent Lender pipeline and address conditions in accordance with internal and investor guidelines to enable sale on the secondary market. The Condition Processor will respond to audits and quality control reviews on mortgage files. This position is remote within 25 miles of our Jacksonville, Florida location Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Complete a thorough analysis of loan conditions placed on a closed loan file by an Underwriter and determine documentation provided by the lender adheres to guidelines and is applicable. Manage conditions to current Appendix Q/FNMA/VA/PenFed guidelines. Assist with maintaining PenFed’s compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances by abiding by PenFed compliance program and all policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Document all conditions thoroughly and accurately through the utilization of the origination loan system, portal, and email communications as applicable. Provide assistance, as applicable, to address, document, and resolve outstanding loan file conditions, provide a disposition with appropriate timeframe in accordance with PenFed’s policies and procedures. Responsible for pipeline management and ensuring that all conditions are met in an accurate and timely fashion in accordance with established standard levels of service. Perform final reviews of outstanding conditions and prepare the file for loan purchase. Act as the liaison between Underwriter and Correspondent Lenders regarding requirements to clear conditions, discuss pipeline, status updates, rush requests, and policy or guideline changes. Maintain high communication standards with UW and Correspondent Lenders. Initiates and maintains contact throughout the processing period to ensure that all related parties are kept informed of loan status, conveying the appropriate level of urgency and professionalism to ensure that all expectations are exceeded. Apply working knowledge of secondary market requirements during processing and underwriting mortgage transactions to ensure loans are eligible for sale, if applicable. Responsible for due diligence follow up of post purchase conditions, as well as QC and Credit Risk review conditions after loan is purchased. Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field and/or experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform essential role functions. Minimum of three (3) years of mortgage underwriting experience in lending is required. Real Estate Lending experience is required. Experience with VA, FHA and SAR is preferred Strong knowledge of federal, regulatory, agency, investor, state, county, city, Pentagon Federal Credit Union and/or additional laws or guidelines is highly preferred. Experience in utilizing automated loan-servicing systems is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Supervisory Responsibility This position does not directly supervise employees Licenses and Certifications LAPP/SAR certifications are preferred Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds. Travel Ability to travel to various worksites and to be on-call as needed is required.
