PenFed is hiring a (Remote) Capital Planning and Stress Testing Manager associated with one of our following offices: Tysons, Virginia; Charlotte, North Carolina; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Irving, Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; Pittsburgh, Penssylvania; or Minneapolis, Minnesota. The primary purpose of this job is to manage various components while leading the execution of financial analysis in support of PenFed’s capital planning and stress testing process and annual regulatory requirements.

This role can be located anywhere in the United States

  • The anticipated starting salary range for this role is $91,474.00 to $137,783.00

  • This position is eligible for the organization’s annual Balanced Scorecard bonus subject to board discretion and approval

  • This position is also eligible for the opportunity for an annual Pay for Performance bonus

Responsibilities

  • Execute the production of, and support the ongoing development of, the capital plan and stress testing deliverables in compliance with NCUA regulatory requirements.

  • Provide ownership of reporting materials and presentations used by Finance team to analyze the drivers impacting projected net income, risk, and net worth capital levels from changes in underlying data positions, asset/liability balance sheet product segment composition, macroeconomic factors, yield curves, model specifications and other balance sheet assumptions and risk factors.

  • Develop working knowledge of evolving modeling requirements for existing and emerging PenFed financial products and a comprehensive understanding of the impact of macro-economic factors on the balance sheet and income statement.

  • Participate in and occasionally lead in preparing key discussion topics for, meetings with business units, modelers, and forecasters to improve modeling approaches and provide for an integrated, transparent business process.

  • Support the Senior Manager/Director with the delivery and preparation of accurate enterprise position data to the NCUA in support of their ongoing challenger modeling program.

  • Provide Ownership of the preparation of materials pertaining to project working group communication, committee and Board presentations and examiner deliverables.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with Finance, Risk and LOB teams involved in the modeling effort for NII, credit risk forecasting, Allowance for Credit loss models, including familiarity with data requirements, model performance, and results diagnosis.

  • Lead the production and maintenance of all relevant process documentation.

  • Lead the performance of ad hoc analysis or tasks, as needed.

Qualifications

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Advanced degree (MBA) in a quantitative subject, such as Economics or Finance; Master’s Degree in Finance; CFA certification, or a combination of education and relevant experience is preferred.

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience with QRM Balance Sheet Management tool is required.

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience required, five (5) years preferred, working within a financial planning and forecasting related function, including a basic understanding of cashflow modeling of standard bank asset and liability instruments.

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience with the regulatory capital stress testing and/or the Federal Reserve’s CCAR testing process, or similar role within a Treasury/ALM capacity.

  • Generalized, working understanding of SQL or similar data query competencies.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and structured thinking skills, with an ability to operate with minimal oversight.

  • Proven experience with managing multiple tasks with strict, non-negotiable deadlines, whether as a team lead or individual contributor capacity

  • High proficiency utilizing Microsoft Excel as well as the other Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, PowerPoint)

  • Past experience managing a team or acting as team lead is preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position does not have any supervisory responsibility.

Licenses and Certifications

  • There are no additional certifications required.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.

Travel

Ability to travel to various worksites may be required.
